Tippmann 98 Mag Fed Conversion Kit Support
« on: September 27, 2010, 02:20:26 PM »

This is where you can post questions and get information on the mag fed conversion kit as well as helping others to put their kits together.

Tacamo respects your love for the Tippmann® 98®…and your desire to try out the hot new magazine-only game formats, like at “Operation: End War,” and an increasing number of events across the country. When you want to get that hopper out of your way, open up your field of vision, improve the balance and natural point of aim of your marker, and get rocking with a true mil-sim piece that not only looks but also reloads and points the same as the real thing, you need the Tacamo Magazine Conversion Kit.

It works with the Tippmann® 98® you already own—that’s the beauty of this revolutionary aftermarket accessory.

Disassemble your Tippmann® 98®, and follow the included instructions to transfer the internal parts to the Tacamo Magazine Conversion Kit. After assembly, you’ll have a marker that retains the heart and soul of the Tippmann® 98® you know and love, but accepts detachable magazines instead of ugly, noisy, bulky hoppers.

Then you can rock 20 rounds at a time, making every shot count like a pump player…but relying on the semi-auto firepower of your trusted marker, and the spring-fed reliability (a ball in the chamber every time—no matter the rate of fire, or angle of the marker) of the RAP4 magazine.

Tacamo’s engineers have been working on this kit for a long time, getting the compatibility perfect…and then focusing on the aesthetics outside. The Tippmann ® 98® Magazine Conversion Kit retains the original marker’s ergonomics, but updates the aesthetic slightly with a Magpul-inspired magazine housing in front of the trigger guard. Trick out your newly reconfigured Tippmann® 98® with tactical rails, collapsible stock—all the accessories you already own, or, get some new ones to complete the look—and you can build a magazine-fed M4, or other real world –inspired tactical marker!

If you want the advantages and aesthetics of a magazine fed marker, but without sacrificing the onboard paint capacity of a hopper, pick up a RAP4 Box Magazine and put 250 balls onboard your marker.

When you’re serious about woodsball, mil-sim, looking authentic or just having fun, you need to take your Tippmann® 98® to the next level with Tacamo!

Key Features Include:
 - Enables you to accept RAP4 Interchangeable Magazines
 - Improve handling, balance, natural point of aim
 - All necessary parts for conversion are included
 - You can still use your hopper when you need to
 - Completely replaces the body panels of your marker
 - Retain and use the marker’s internal parts and most accessories
 - Opens up your field of view
 - Breathe new life into old designs
 - Designed to enhance the aesthetics of your chosen marker
 - Takes you to a whole new level of tactical paintball!

This kit includes:
  - 1 x Magazine Conversion Kit
  - 1 x 20 Rounds Magazine

Since the 98, BT, and Valken kits share the same body kit, does this kit for the 98 use a 98 Thread adapter or are the Threads moulded into the Clamshells like the original 98 clamshells?

the 98 threads will be molded onto the body; however, if you purchase the kit for your bt/valken, you'll receive a barrel adapter with your kit.

2 questions then.

1st question
Do the Valken and BT kits have 98 threads moulded into the clamshell and then just use an A5/X7 thread adapter?

2nd question
With the Valken and BT kits do I get the removable grip with the kit since I cannot remove the one off my 98 plus have the ability to mount a cyclone the kit?

Any more info you can give us on these kits we can use on our 98 would be greatly appreciated. The other kits are easy because they are only used for one marker but this kit is used for multiple marker manufacturers.

I would love the ability to convert my 98 to a mag feed, get the removable grip, ability to still add the cyclone if needed and also be able to shoot with my X7's barrel kit. :)

I'm placing an order tomorrow so my time line is running out for questions. :)

Without the internal air kit, yes. The internal air through system will be released after the kits.

1. Yes, the valken/bt kits will have the molded 98 threads on the body and will include the barrel adatper.

2. The valken/bt kits will not include the pistol grip. The only version that comes with a pistol grip is the 98 version.

Whew Finally I get some straight information, Thanks you very much!!!!!!

Both you and RAP4 mentioned that if I bought a BT or Valken kit, that I would be able to use X7 barrels with my upgrade which is great other then the fact I wouldnot be able to shoot since neither of those kits come with a Grip to fire the kit when I upgrade my 98. LOL

I feel like I have been chasing my tail this last week trying to figure out what was going on with this kit!

Either way I’m going to have to order the 98 kit so I can get the grip and just buy an A5/X7 barrel adapter later on if I want to go that route.

I think I’m looking forward more to these upgrades for my 98 and my X7 then I was waiting for my X7 to get here when I first bought it! LOL

The internal air through system will be released after the kits.

Do you have an idea how much RAP4 will be charging for these Air through systems? I really hope they are more reasonable then their current Flex air setup!

I think it's a pretty good price...when you compare it against cyclone upgrade kits stringers ecetera

MickManus,

The Magazine conversion kit is priced very well, but the Flex Air system is a bit high at $79.99 for the rear adapter and the air tube! Not to mention it looks like you have to swtch over to their stocks in order to use one with the Flex Air so now you are looking at  $120+ shipping minimum.

I'll just stick with the stock setup and spend that money on other additions. :)

Maybe I'll look into the Flex air later on if Rap4 decides to price them at a more reasonable price range.

on the rap 4 web site they show the 98 set up with the air in buttstock system. if the air is still bolted to the grip why mis lead the customer? all the other pictures show no air tank or air lines and promote milsim appearance.  i recieved an email saying the kits were pushed back to mid june and the web site say end of july. why announce a product that is not ready to be sold?

Which 98 models will this work with? I currently own a model 98, 98 custom act, and a 98 platnum act with the act technology parts replaced with non act parts.

Does the mag kit clamshell have holes in it to mount the valve?

The 98 kit. Does it come with a seperate grip like a bt-4, or does it come molded to the clamshell like the origional?

When will you have more details and pictures on the air accessories, and will they be compatable with CO2 and HPA?
